Vicksburg Police Department release crime statistics for April and May

The Vicksburg Police Department recently released crime statistics for the months of April and May.

In April and May, VPD logged 3,721 calls, made 1,259 reports and made 334 arrests. The stat sheet also shows 72 warrants, 288 citations, 14 warnings and seven DUI’s.

A vast majority of crimes involved auto burglaries. VPD reports 49 total auto burglary related crimes in April and May, 16 of which involved unsecured vehicles. Domestic violence was also a dominant issue listed on the crime statistics.

One forcible rape incident was reported and one kidnapping.
