Vicksburg Police Department reports shots fired, grand larceny and counterfeit bills
The Vicksburg Police Department reports a call of shots fired at New Maine Apartments, 2727 Alcorn Dr., near building 100, on Aug. 17 at 2:06 a.m. Upon arrival officers witnessed no evidence of shots fired.
A report of grand larceny was reported to the VPD, Aug. 17, at 2:05 p.m. The victim entered the police department with claims that a chrome gun with a black handle was missing from their vehicle that was parked at the Waterview Casino, 3990 Washington St. The crime has been listed on the National Crime Investigation Center (NCIC) list and is being further investigated by the VPD.Â
Three reports of counterfeit bills were recorded by VPD. No arrests were made regarding any of the counterfeit bills being passed.
- At 3:14 p.m. on Aug. 17 a report of a counterfeit $100 bill being passed at Ameristar Casino, 4115 Washington St,. was recorded.Â
- Also on the same day at 4:34 p.m. at Riverwalk Casino, 1046 Warrenton Road, another counterfeit $100 bill was passed.
- Aug. 18 at 7:27 p.m. a counterfeit $50 was passed at Ameristar Casino.Â
At 10:59 p.m., Aug. 18, VPD responded to a call of shots fired near the 800 block of Adams Street and witnessed evidence of shots fired.
