VPD crime report for Aug. 21: auto burglary and auto theft

On Aug. 21, the Vicksburg Police Department responded to an auto burglary at 8:09 a.m. in the 1200 block of Warrenton Road. Approximately $16,000 worth of tools were stolen out of the victim’s work truck.

In addition to the auto burglary the VPD also responded to an auto theft at 1:44 p.m.at David Smith Automotive, 1315 Clay Street. Upon arrival, Vicksburg police were notified that a Ford Ranger was missing from the establishment. Owner David Smith was unaware the vehicle was missing. Deputies from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office later located and recovered the vehicle on Jackson Road near Culkin Road.
