Vicksburg police make a drug arrest, report auto burglary and shots fired

Vicksburg Police officers arrested Anthony Wyatt, 31, of Vicksburg, on drug charges early Tuesday morning, Nov. 26.

Officers arrested Wyatt after they discovered a bag of pills during a routine traffic stop at Mission 66 and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at 12:58 a.m. The pills were later identified as ecstasy.

Wyatt will have his first court appearance Wednesday, Nov. 27 in the Warren County Municipal Court. He is being held without bail in the Madison County Jail.

The Vicksburg Police Department also reported the following crimes for Monday, Nov. 25.

Auto Burglary

At 5:09 p.m., officers responded to a report of a handgun stolen from a 2014 Toyota in the 900 block of Jackson Street. The gun was reported to be a Glock Model 19 .40-caliber handgun.

Shots Fired

Officers responded Monday to three reports of shots fired: at 2:58 p.m. in the 1400 block of Harrison Street; at 7:34 p.m. in the 1600 block of Cherry Street; and at 7: 43 p.m. in the 200 block of Grove Street.

Officers found no evidence of shots fired at any of the locations.
