Vicksburg police make an arrest for auto theft, respond to business burglary

Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department arrested Jacob Cummins, 19, of Vicksburg, Wednesday, Aug. 12, on a charge of auto theft.

Cummins’ arrest was in connection with the theft of a 2012 Nissan Altima at the Beechwood Park Apartments, 201 Berryman Road, on Sunday, Aug. 9.

Cummins appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court Wednesday where Judge Angela Carpenter set his bond at $15,000 and bound him over to the Warren County grand jury.

In an unrelated incident, Pendleton Quick Lube, 3420 Halls Ferry Road, was the site of a business burglary Tuesday. Officers responded to the scene at 8:16 a.m., where the owner stated that someone broke into the business, stealing an impact drill, a computer reader and cash from the cash register.
