Vicksburg police make two arrests in unrelated incidents; auto burglary reported

Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department recently made two arrests in unrelated incidents.

Officers made contact with Samuel Craig, 36, of Vicksburg, who was out after curfew at the Circle K Convenience Store at 4150 Washington St. on Monday, March 31, at 11:28 p.m. Craig was in possession of a handgun. The officers arrested him and charged him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

In Vicksburg Municipal Court on Wednesday, Judge Angela Carpenter bound Craig over to the Warren County grand jury on a $30,000 bond.

In the second incident, officers stopped a vehicle driving erratically on U.S. Highway 61 South on Wednesday, April 1. They arrested the driver, Heather Blakely-Hearn, 42, of Vicksburg, for possession of methamphetamine.

Hearn appeared before Judge Carpenter on Thursday, April 2, where she received a $50,000 bond and was bound over to the Warren County grand jury.

In another reported incident, Officers responded to Loan Master at 4209 Clay St. in reference to an auto theft on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at 9:28 a.m. The complainant stated that the business repossessed a red Mazda 6 and parked it at the business overnight. When they arrived at work that morning, the car was missing.
