Vicksburg police make two narcotics arrests in separate incidents

Vicksburg Police officers made two narcotics arrests in separate incidents last week.

On Thursday, April 2, officers of the Vicksburg Police Narcotics Enforcement Team and Criminal Investigation Division conducted an operation at The Smoke Break (Jubilee Fastway), 1217 Cherry St.

Dzackery Williams, 27, of Vicksburg, was in possession of 21 grams of cocaine, digital scales, and $276. Police arrested him on one count of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Williams appeared before Judge Penny Lawson in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Friday, April 3, where he received a $50,000 bond and was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.

On Sunday, April 5, police officers made contact with Edwin Malpica, 27, of Vicksburg, for being in violation of the curfew. A K-9 officer searched his vehicle and found Malpica was in possession of methamphetamine.

Malpica appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Monday, April 6, where he was arraigned on one count of possession of methamphetamine. His bond was set at $60,000 and he was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.

Malpica also had an outstanding warrant from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated assault.
