Vicksburg police officer arrested on domestic violence charge

Vicksburg police officer Fabian Taylor, arrested Oct. 28 on one count of aggravated domestic violence assault.

On Monday, Oct. 28, the Vicksburg Police Department arrested one of its own on one count of aggravated domestic violence assault.

Officer Fabian Taylor, 38, was taken into custody by VPD investigators as a result of a report filed earlier that morning.

Taylor was arraigned in Warren County Justice Court and bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury on a $10,000.00 bond.

He has been suspended from duty with the police department pending the outcome of the legal process. If found guilty, Taylor could face up to 20 years behind bars.

Auto Burglary

Oct. 29, Vicksburg Police officers responded to Riverside Construction, 4111 Washington St., in reference to an auto burglary. The complainant reported that someone entered a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado and took a Rigid battery powered tool valued at $800.00.

Shots Fired

Oct. 28, officers responded to the area of Harrison and Vick streets in reference to shots having been fired in the vicinity. When they arrived, the officers saw no signs of suspicious activity.
