Vicksburg Police report residential and auto burglaries, and shots fired

The following crimes were reported by the Vicksburg Police Department for Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019.

Residential Burglary

On Nov. 21 at 5:09 p.m., officers responded to a burglary in the 3200 block of Highland Drive. The homeowner stated that a giant street light worth $1,600 was stolen.

Residential Burglary

Allegedly, two televisions were stolen from a property located in the 1000 block of Vine Street, Nov. 21 at 10:23 p.m.

Upon arrival the resident stated that an unidentified male stole the items from the home. The burglar was discovered and took off on foot, leaving the TVs outside the home.

Auto Burglary

Nov. 21 at 8:59 p.m., officers responded to an auto burglary at the Crossings Apartments, 2160 South Frontage Road. Officers were told that an insurance card and medical card were stolen from the center console of a Ford Escape. No arrests were made.

Shots fired

A call was made to the VPD Nov. 21 at 12:27 p.m., regarding shots being fired near the New Maine Apartments, 2727 Alcorn Drive. Investigating officers discovered no evidence of any shots fired. No property damage or injuries were reported.
