Vicksburg Police responded to burglary, assault and theft calls last weekend
Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department responded to the following calls between Friday, Jan. 3, and Sunday, Jan. 5:
On Friday, Jan. 3, at 11:30 a.m., officers responded to the area of Vick and Grammar streets in reference to an auto burglary. The complainant said someone broke into his Freightliner truck and stole $70 in change and a 19-inch television.
Also on Friday, officers responded to two calls of residential burglaries.
The first, at 3:45 p.m. was to an address in the 1800 block of Skipland Drive. The complainant reported someone broke into his home and stole two televisions, speakers and a handgun.
The second, at 8:37 p.m., was to an Eastover Drive address. The complainant stated that a checkbook, two iPhones and an iPhone charger were taken.
Officers responded to an aggravated assault call at 11:13 p.m. Friday at the Old School Club at 2820 North Washington St. The victim suffered a laceration on the left side of his jaw. Upon investigation, police determined that no aggravated assault occurred.
On Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, at 4:59 p.m., officers responded to the Circle K gas station at 4150 Washington St in reference to a stolen vehicle. The complainant stated someone stole his 2008 Dodge Charger from the pump.
