Vicksburg recognizes Vickie Bailey for five years of service
The City of Vicksburg recognized Recreational Aide Vickie Bailey for five years of service at Monday’s Board of Mayor and Alderman meeting.
“I would like to thank the community of Vicksburg and parents for trusting me with their children,” Bailey said.
Bailey was born and raised in Vicksburg and graduated from Vicksburg High in 1986 where she played tennis. She later attended Mississippi College and Tougaloo College.
Bailey came back to work for the city after former Alderman Willis Thompson brought her in five years ago. She has always had a passion for the youth.
“My goal is to have a feeder program in Vicksburg where kids can be taught the skills and fundamentals of the sport they are playing,” Bailey said.
Bailey is also one of the main people to get the Jackson Street Community Center open. It provides the people of the community an opportunity to be engaged in activities such as basketball.
