Vicksburg resident arrested for felony warrant after traffic stop by WC authorities
Warren County authorities apprehended Vicksburg resident, Anthony Tristan Bell, 36, after a traffic stop revealed he had a felony warrant for vehicle theft.
On Jul. 21, at around 4:45 p.m., Sheriff’s Detective Jeff Meritt initiated a traffic stop of an older model SUV on Warrenton Road due to a traffic violation.
When Meritt ran Bell’s license, the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) check showed he had a felony warrant out of Warren County Circuit court for motor vehicle theft.
According to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, the theft was originally a Vicksburg Police Department case. Bell was indicted by the Warren County Grand Jury but did not appear in court. A capias warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. A capias warrant is an order to detain and arrest the individual to guarantee their appearance in court.
The warrant was issued out of Circuit Court. Bell currently has no bond and has yet to have a bail hearing scheduled.
