Vicksburg resident dies on Nailor Road

Just after 7 p.m., Vicksburg Warren 911 received a call that a vehicle had left the roadway on Nailor near Walnut Circle.
It is believed a medical event caused the driver of the vehicle to lose consciousness and subsequently leave the roadway, resulting in a crash. The passenger in the front seat of the 1995 pickup was not injured.
Nailor Road was shut down for a period of time while first responders worked on the patient.
Life-saving measures were employed by Vicksburg and Warren County first responders. They worked for an extended period of time to revive the individual. Unfortunately, the driver, described only as a Vicksburg resident, 49, did not respond to the efforts and died at the scene.
According to Sheriff Martin Pace, “It appears the driver was in medical distress before the vehicle left the roadway.”
The Vicksburg Daily News will update this story as more information, including the name of the deceased, is made publically available.
