Vicksburg resident shot in home overnight, VPD investigating

Shots were fired into a Vicksburg home just after midnight, leaving one resident injured.
Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, at 12:20 a.m., Vicksburg police officers were alerted to a call of shots fired in the 100 block of Meadowbrook Drive.

Police arrived on the scene to find one resident suffering from a gunshot wound to his right leg. Reports indicate an unknown individual fired one shot into the home, injuring the occupant.
The victim was transported by private vehicle to Merit Health River Region Emergency Room. He has since been treated and released.
