Vicksburg residents arrested for Port Gibson armed robbery
Two Vicksburg residents have been taken into custody for an armed robbery committed on Saturday in Port Gibson.
The armed robbery took place on Bridewell Lane in Port Gibson after 2 a.m. on Saturday. Port Gibson Police Chief Russel Dorsey stated their investigation uncovered a Vicksburg address, leading law enforcement to the 1300 block of Fillmore Street. Vicksburg Police Department worked with Port Gibson Police Department in approaching the suspects and made the arrest.
“Saturday morning, just after 2 a.m., there was an armed robbery committed inside of Port Gibson city limits by Johnny Sanders and Mary Myles. We just made an arrest on those subjects and they will be transported to Port Gibson, facing those charges,” stated Port Gibson Police Chief Russell Dorsey.
Dorsey went on to state that their investigation uncovered a Vicksburg address, leading law enforcement to the 1300 block of Fillmore Street. Vicksburg Police Department worked with Port Gibson Police Department in approaching the suspects and made the arrest just before 10 a.m.
Dorsey further went on to remind criminals that crime will not be tolerated in the city of Port Gibson, “There’s no running. If you run, we’re going to get you.”
