Vicksburg shooter sought; victim in critical condition
Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, around 12:36 a.m. Vicksburg police were dispatched to Merit Health River Region Medical
Center in reference to male who had been shot.
The hospital staff told officers that Mario Marquie Luckett, 31, of 3013 Washington St., had been dropped off at the emergency room by an unknown person. Luckett had been shot once in the buttocks area. He was stabilized and air lifted to the University Medical Center in Jackson, Miss., where he was last listed in critical condition.
Police are looking for Jacorey Terrell Wright, 36, of 235 Smith Road, in reference to this shooting. Witness told police that Luckett and Wright had gotten into an argument in the 500 block of Hutson Street, which ultimately led to Wright shooting Luckett.
Wright is considered armed and dangerous, and this shooting remains under investigation.
