Vicksburg teen arrested for burglary, VPD investigating additional crimes

Vicksburg police have arrested one individual in relation to a burglary in Vicksburg and are currently investigating two other burglaries and Tuesday morning’s carjacking.

In a press release, The Vicksburg Police Department announced the arrest of Donald Ray Parson, Jr., 18, of Vicksburg.

Vicksburg police report making the arrest on Monday. Parson is charged with burglary of a dwelling that occurred on Hall road on Oct. 1.

Pearson appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Tuesday and was given a $30,000 bond by Jude Angela Carpenter.

Along with the arrest, Vicksburg Police announced they were investigating two other burglaries within the city.

On Saturday, VPD reports that officers were dispatched around 4:30 p.m. to a residence in the 400 block of Grange Hall Road. The victim reported a 60″ television was taken from the home.

On Sunday, VPD reports that officers took a report just before 3 p.m. of an auto burglary that happened at Cannongate Apartments on Wisconsin Avenue. The victim stated a black and gray Adidas gym bag was taken from their 2018 Toyota. Within the bag was said to have contained an Apple MacBook valued at $1,100 and a Glock 17 Gen 5 9mm handgun valued at $500.

Among the cases, the carjacking incident that occurred Tuesday morning is still being investigated.
