Vicksburg teen arrested on aggravated assault charges

A Vicksburg teenager is facing aggravated assault charges after he reportedly fired a weapon and shot another in the leg.
Vicksburg Police Department reports that on Sunday, Sep. 18, at 5:18 p.m., officers took a report of a shooting that occurred on Grove Street.
The juvenile victim stated a passenger in a Nissan sedan shot out through the window at him.
The victim was struck in the lower right leg and the wound was not life-threatening.
On Wednesday, Sep. 21, Casey Smith, 15, of Vicksburg was taken in custody on a warrant for aggravated assault.
He appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Thursday, Sep. 22, where he was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury on a $50,000 bond.
