Vicksburg Warren School District celebrates two “Leader in Me Legacy Schools”
Two elementary schools in the Vicksburg Warren School District were recently awarded the prestigious title of “Leader in Me Legacy Schools” by FranklinCovey. The schools that earned this distinction are Bovina Elementary School and Bowmar Avenue Elementary School.
On Monday morning, representatives from FranklinCovey revealed the news to teachers and students from both schools during a field trip to Sports Force Park. The announcement came as a surprise to everyone in attendance.
Only a handful of schools across the globe have received the “Leader in Me Legacy Schools” distinction. It is a significant accomplishment for both schools, but it is especially noteworthy for the Vicksburg Warren School District, as it is the only district in the world to have two legacy schools within its boundaries.
The “Leader in Me” program is designed to teach students leadership skills that they can use in all aspects of their lives.
