Vicksburg Warren School District extending spring break through March 20

The Vicksburg Warren School District announced Saturday it would be closing schools through March 20.
Following the recommendation of Gov. Tate Reeves, the district is extending spring break for an additional week.
In a social media post, the district said its lead administrative team is working diligently to expand the contingency plan for students and staff including full on-line school, food delivery to homes and adjusted staff assignments in the event that closures continue after March 20.
“We are in ongoing conversations with the Mayor, Lt. Governor, Governor and the CDC, Mississippi Department of Health, Warren County Emergency Management and other state organizations about the Coronavirus (COVID-19),” the district stated.
“Thank you for your patience as we work to make the best decisions for the health and safety of our students, staff and community. As we receive additional information, we will provide updates via Facebook, website and call-outs.”
