A new art gallery has opened at the Mulberry in Vicksburg.

Vicksburg’s newest hotel/apartment offering by Certified Hospitality Management, LLC, the Mulberrry, has added an art gallery in the rotunda. The Jackson Street Gallery at Mulberry will feature original pieces of art by Mississippi artists. Monday night, the Jackson Street Gallery will host the Miss Mississippi Signing Party.

The party will begin immediately following the Miss Mississippi Parade which begins at 7 p.m.

Paula Jackson has been in the art business for over 20 years and found out she had a knack for it. “I never thought I would have an art gallery. It started when I answered a help wanted ad,” to help at another art gallery, explained Jackson. She was hired for the job. A couple of years later, she branched out on her own in Ridgeland at what has become the Jackson Street Gallery.

With the help of her husband of 46 years, Sandy Jackson, they look forward to becoming a part of the Vicksburg community. “We’ve been meeting people in the community and everyone is so welcoming and friendly. We are so excited to meet even more people and blend into this beautiful town.”

The Vicksburg Daily News featured the Mulberry in a story done a few months ago. The venue is almost complete and has been hosting guests. The Jackson Street Gallery will be available to rent for events in addition to being open to the public.
