Vicksburg native India Allen surprised her husband, Marcus Allen, with a photography studio for Christmas.

Marcus Allen is a well-known photographer in Vicksburg and with this gift from his wife, he is now the proud owner of the Marcus Allen Photography Studio located in downtown Vicksburg at 1207 Walnut Street.

“I felt that he needed his own space, and he has enough clientele to where his business will do great,” India Allen said.

The Allens have been married for almost two years and both are natives of Vicksburg.

Marcus Allen has a great love for photography, and you have likely seen his work shared on social media. Many of his photos feature maternity, sports, graduations and other special occasions, and they have been shared widely in the community.

Allen currently works as a communication assistant with the Vicksburg Warren School District where he regularly photographs student activities.

“I love to capture moments in order for people to save them for a lifetime,” he said.

Allen has been taking photographs for seven years, and he has found a way to make a successful career out of it. He enrolled in Antonelli College in 2015 and majored in business administration, and he will put that education to good use in running his studio.

Allen will start booking clients at his new studio in late January 2021. If you’re interested in hiring a great photographer, message him on his Facebook page.
