Vicksburg’s drive through vaccination site now taking appointments

COVID-19 vaccinations will be available to Vicksburg and Warren County residents beginning next week, according to Emergency Management Director John Elfer.
Demand for the vaccine is so high that before public announcements could be made, residents were already registering their appointments. All 200 vaccines allocated for the first week of distribution have been scheduled.
Individuals that meet the eligibility requirements will be able to schedule their vaccinations on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays. The vaccines will be administered via a drive through site at Uptown Vicksburg (formerly known as the Vicksburg Mall).
Appointments can be made online at https://covidvaccine.umc.edu/.
Due to limited supply of the vaccine, inoculations are being made available to individuals 65 years of age and older, or those with certain underlying conditions. More information regarding eligibility can be found here.
