Victim of fatal crash on Highway 27 identified

The victim of a fatal crash on Highway 27 on Tuesday has been identified as 69-year-old David Paxton of Fleming Island, FL.

On Tuesday, May 3, at around 11:13 a.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on Highway 27 near Thornton Drive in Warren County.

A homeowner at this address saw the wreck happen and called it in. Initial reports indicated a log truck and motorcycle had collided.

A 2008 BMW Motorcycle driven by Paxton traveled north on Highway 27 when it collided with a 2006 International Tractor Trailer driven by 61-year-old Daniel Dee, of Pattison, MS, traveling south on Highway 27. David A Paxton received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Upon arriving at the scene on Hwy 27, authorities quickly closed the road near its intersection with Countyside Road. Paxton was unresponsive.

This crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
