VIDEO – Firefighters walk to remember those who died Sept. 11, 2001

Area firefighters will be participating in a 5K walk Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Vicksburg National Military Park.

The walk is in remembrance of the 343 firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice Sept. 11, 2001, and those who have perished in the line of duty since.

Firefighters will gather at 5 p.m., and they will be walking in full turn out gear.

The walk is also a fundraiser for the Steven Sillars Tunnels to Towers Foundation. The foundation builds homes for veterans and  families of fallen first responders  across the country. To learn more visit
