VIDEO: Pedestrian killed on I-20 near Wisconsin

A pedestrian was killed on I-20 near the Wisconsin overpass Friday night.

Just after 11 p.m. a person attempting to cross the interstate was struck by a vehicle. The impact happened in front of Blackburn Motors in the eastbound lane.

The first unit to arrive at the accident scene requested Air Care be called in. Rescue, firefighters and EMT’s with a fire medic unit were at the scene moments later but there was nothing they could do.

MHP arrived about 30 minutes later.

The interstate is shut down at the time of this report as they await the coroner to arrive at the scene. Eastbound traffic is being diverted to the Frontage Road.
