VIDEO – Sheriff Pace on Monday’s shooting

At 4:25 p.m. on Monday, a Warren County man walked under his own power into Merit Health River Region with a gunshot wound to the face.
The Vicksburg Daily News spoke with Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace.
In the video, the Sheriff reports, “An adult male came in on his own power, he walked into the emergency room. He has a gunshot wound to the head. He was not able to give or chose not to give any details of what happened or even where it happened. He has been airlifted to University Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. And as we have more information, we will make that available. Investigators from both the Police Department and the Sheriff’s Department are working to put this together at this time.”
The as-yet-unidentified adult male was treated at Merit Health River Region and then transported to UMMC via an AirCare helicopter. One source familiar with the incident indicated his condition was serious.
Warren County Sheriff’s deputies and Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace were at the scene along with several Vicksburg Police officers and investigators. The location of the shooting incident is still undetermined at this time.
