Video: Students at Bowmar celebrate Night Under the Lights and enjoy a surprise visit from St. Nick
Students at Bowmar Elementary gathered on Thursday night to join their fellow classmates in celebrating the first of what is to be an annual event, Night Under the Lights. Children were also surprised with a special visit from St. Nick.
“It’s one of our first Christmas programs we’ve been able to have since COVID,” said PTO Decorating Committee Chairwoman Bonnie Henry. “It’s a wonderful night that encompasses singing from all of our children, kindergarten through sixth-grade.”
Students celebrated the night with song, laughter and pictures with Santa. Children also were able to create and decorate a winter wonderland display, which parents had the opportunity to examine and vote for their favorite tree.
“This is just another way to foster relationships and community and just celebrate, especially at such a time as Christmas when celebration is probably the most important of the year,” said Henry.
