Viking Daniel Smothers signing with Co-Lin

Warren Central High School basketball player Daniel Smothers has announced he will attend Copiah-Lincoln Community College next season to continue playing basketball.

Smothers has been a key player for the Vikings over the past couple of seasons, helping his team to many victories. This season he averaged 16.4 points per game under head coach Bruce Robinson.

With his work ethic on the court this season, Smothers has proven he is ready to play on the next level, and he is looking forward to playing at Co-Lin.

“First off, I would like to thank God for giving me the opportunity to play the sport I love to play,” Smothers said. “I would like to thank my friends, family, trainers and my coaches for pushing me to be the best I can be. I would like to the thank the colleges that offered me to attend their school. I will be majoring in kinesiology when I go to college, “

Smothers will soon be teammates with VHS player Cameron Butler who announced that he will sign with Co-Lin as well.

Smothers’ teammate Jabari Bowman is signing with Jones Community College.
