Vikings and Gators headed to the playoffs

WC Game:

After a 48-38 victory over Pearl on Thursday, Warren Central boy’s basketball team clinched a playoff spot.

Taylor Mitchell led the Vikings with 14 points and Gaylon Turner followed up with 10 points. DeCorey Knight, Jr. put up seven points and Garrett Fisher added six.

The Vikings are led by head coach Keith Williams who has quickly turned the team in the right direction.

VHS Game:

In a close 62-60 win over Forest Hill, Vicksburg High School will now be in the class 5A playoffs.

Malik Franklin stepped up late in the game and finished with 15 points on the night while Kameron Brown pitched in 13. Davian Williams also added 11 points for the Gators.

Kelvin Carter is the head coach of VHS and has led his young team to the playoff appearance.
