VJHS headed to the second round of the Little Six Tournament

Vicksburg Junior High School boy’s basketball team are headed to the second round of the Little Six Tournament after defeating Terry 39-23 on Tuesday.

The Gators got a 11-4 head start in the first quarter after big shots by Jaquez Jones and Jordan Clay. By halftime, VJHS went up 19-10 after a 3-pointer by Nick Carson along with a nice shot by J. Marshall.

The third quarter was tough for the Gators as they only scored three points while the Bulldogs made a comeback to narrow the lead to 22-19. VJHS got back on track in the fourth as Marlyn Foy and W.Curry took control of things.

Jones led the Gators with 11 points while Foy put up 10. Curry finished with six points and Clay added five. Carson scored four points and Marshall ended the night with three.
