VJHS knocked off Clinton 45-37 on Thursday

Vicksburg Junior High School boy’s basketball team defeated Clinton on Thursday in a 45-37 win.

The Arrows got on the board first with a quick layup and they went up 8-6 by the end of the quarter. Mikey Johnson, Jordan Clay, and Jadarius Henderson all scored for VJHS early in the game.

The Gators picked things up in the second quarter when Johnson drove to the basket multiple times for scores, which allowed VJHS to go up 20-13 at halftime.

The Gators maintained their lead throughout the rest of the night with the help of Marlon Foy who put up eight points.

Johnson led the Gators with 26 points and Henderson added six while Gaines and Clay each had two points.

VJHS will travel to Madison Middle School on Monday to play for another win under head coach Jerdon Hardiman.
