VJHS player Michael Johnson scored three touchdowns Thursday
Vicksburg Junior High School quarterback Michael Johnson scored three touchdowns in the final junior high football game of the season Thursday.
Johnson, a seventh grader, threw two of the touchdowns and rushed for the third in the 56-14 victory over Germantown. Both of Johnson’s touchdown passes were thrown to Delvechio Ellis.
This season was Johnson’s first year playing quarterback, and he helped the Gators finish with a successful 3-2 record under head coach Larry Carter Jr. He will have another season to play as quarterback as an eighth grader during the next school year.
Johnson also plays basketball and baseball in addition to football, and he has excelled in all three sports.
