VJHS volleyball team defeated Byram on Thursday

Vicksburg Junior High School’s seventh and eighth-grade volleyball teams came out with wins over Byram on Thursday.

Seventh-grade:

The first set ended 25-9. Harper Jackson started with five points. Layla Johnson added four and Imani Kelly got six points.

The second set saw Jackson starting with five aces. Kennedi Claiborne contributed five points. Kelly, Angel Scott and Johnson each secured three, ending the game with a final score of 25-12.

Eighth-grade:

The Missy Gators took down Byram 25-16 in set one and 25-12 in set two.

In the first set, Quinley Daniel put up eight points, and Annabella Klee finished with a winning serve. Xaria Williams, Kensley Henderson and Jermaria Wright each got three points. Nykerria Watson added two points.

Williams opened the second set with one point and Aaliyah Brown had 11 aces. Kennedy Williams got one point and Nykerria Watson added two points. Aaliyah Brown served for two points.
