Published

The LeTourneau Volunteer Fire Department was on scene to put out a stubborn grass fire on U.S. Hwy. 61 South near Ring Road.

Dalton Wright of the Fisher Ferry Volunteers assists with this fire.

It was one of two grass fires on the highway.

“We’re likely to see a bunch of grass fires until it rains,” said local volunteer and 911 dispatch operator Steven Cunningham.

The volunteers get to the fire any way they can.
