VPD arrests three in separate crimes on Friday

The Vicksburg Police Department made three arrests on Friday involving separate crimes.

Drug sale

Adolph Carson, 48, of Vicksburg, was arrested by Investigators of the Vicksburg Police Department Narcotics Division on Friday, Dec. 9, on a warrant for the sale of cocaine.

Carson appeared before Judge Penny Lawson in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Friday, Dec. 9, where his bond was set at $40,000 and he was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.

Aggravated DUI

Eric Wesley, 18, of Vicksburg was arrested Friday, Dec. 9, following a motor vehicle accident on Pemberton Square Boulevard that sent a 21-year-old Vicksburg woman to the University of Mississipi Medical Center with serious injuries. Wesley had a breath alcohol level that was above the legal limit for someone under the age of 21.

Wesley appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Monday, Dec. 12, charged with aggravated felony driving Under the Influence. His bond was set at $70,000 and he was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.

Aggravated assault

Laylia Amos, 20, of Vicksburg was arrested Friday, Dec. 9, on warrants for shooting into an occupied vehicle and aggravated assault with a firearm resulting from an incident that occurred on North Poplar Street on Oct. 1.

Amos appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Monday, Dec. 12, where she was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury on a $125,000 bond.
