VPD Crime Report – March 21, 2011

March 18, 2011 at 1:29 pm took a report of an auto burglary in the 3300 block Pemberton Square Blvd of a 1992 Honda Accord; stolen was $823.00 in cash that had been left in a purse in the vehicle.

March 18, 2011 at 7:11 pm VPD arrested Jerome Christmas, age 41, of 2531 Creswell Ave Shreveport, La on a residential burglary warrant from Shreveport, La. Christmas was arrested at the Greyhound Bus Station at 1295 South Frontage Road after police responded to a report of a suspicious person.

March 19, 2011 at 7:59 am took a report of an auto burglary in the 3000 block of Indiana Ave of a 2001 Saturn; stolen was a purse and an I POD touch.

March 19, 2011 at 10:21 am VPD arrested Freddie Walker, age 45, of 207 Enchanted Drive after a traffic stop in the 300 block of Porters Chapel Road. Walker was stopped for no seatbelt and upon the officer speaking with Walker  the officer noticed a white substance in Walkers mouth which was later identified as crack cocaine. Walker was charged with possession of Cocaine and bond was set at $2,000.00.

March19, 2011 at 11:33 am  took a report of a residential burglary in th e 21600 block of Drummond Street; stolen was a 42″ Toshiba TV.

March 20 ,2011 at 4:08 am VPD arrested Lorenzo Wilson, age 23, of 102 Edwards Drive Edwards, Ms and Alexis McCullah, age 26 of 1168 O’Neil Dive Edwards, Ms both were charged with Conspiracy to Commit Auto Theft after police took a report of a stolen 1997 Saturn from the Wingate Hotel located at 115 Cypress Center Drive. Wilson and McCullah were arrested following a traffic stop on Hwy 80 while following the stolen Saturn and being identified by witness as the vehicle involved in the theft. Police recovered the stolen Saturn later in Edwards, Ms abandoned. Wilson was held without bond and McCullah’s bond was set at $15,000.00. Police are still searching for the other suspect.

March 20, 2011 at 5:32 am took a report of a residential burglary in the 800 block of Avenue C; stolen was Magnox DVD player and a Colby 32″ TV  and $ 15.00 in cash.

March 20, 2011 at 4:22 pm VPD arrested Orlando Shorter, age 31, of 1205 China Street apt. C4 after police responded to a report of a disturbance. Shorter was charged with Possession of Cocaine after asking an office to retrieve his cell phone from a back pack. Upon the officer opening the back pack the officer found approximately 2 ounces of cocaine inside. Shorter was held without bond.
