VPD incident report: burglaries and a juvenile taken in for a stolen handgun

The Vicksburg Police Department reports the following incidents occurred Friday, Aug. 7, to Sunday, Aug. 9.

Friday at 6:33 p.m., officers responded to an address in the 1900 block of North Frontage Road in reference to a burglary. The items reported stolen include a generator, two pressure washers, a push mower, a lawn blower, a silver toolbox, two weed eaters, a vacuum cleaner, extension cords and an air compressor. The total value of the items elevates the crime to grand larceny.

Saturday at 9:13 a.m. officers responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 2200 block of Grove Street. The driver, a juvenile, had a stolen Ruger .22-caliber pistol in the vehicle. The driver was placed in custody for possession of a stolen firearm and transported to the Warren County Youth Detention Center.

Sunday at 6:19 a.m., officers responded to a residence in the 1700 block of South Street for a residential burglary. The victim reported someone stole a Dell laptop, headphones and a Pit-bull microphone, all valued at $825.
