VPD incident report for May 19: grand larceny, auto burglaries and shots fired

The Vicksburg Police Department has reported the following incidents occurred Tuesday, May 19:

Officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Stonewall Drive at 9:15 p.m. on a grand larceny call. The victim reported someone stole a gold necklace, two sets of wedding bands, a belt buckle, 19 silver dollar coins, a Marshall High School gold class ring, a .22-caliber revolver, a Del-Ton AR-15 rifle, and several rounds of ammunition. The value of missing items is estimated at $11,700.

Police responded to two reports of auto burglary Tuesday. In both cases, the vehicles had been left unlocked.

  • At 1 p.m. officers responded to an address in the 1000 block of Monroe Street, where the complainant stated someone stole a SECY 9mm handgun from a 2006 Lexus.
  • At 6:24 p.m., a victim came into the police department lobby to report a theft in the 2400 block of Clay Street. The victim stated someone went into a 2016 Ford Escape and stole $500.

At 4:38 p.m., officers responded to the 100 block of Still Water Drive on a shots-fired call. The victim stated someone fired four rounds into the driver’s door of a 2008 Ford F-250. The vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the shooting.
