VPD incident report: theft of auto parts and auto burglary

The Vicksburg Police Department reports the following incidents for Monday, April 27.

Theft of Vehicle Parts

At 11:24 a.m., officers investigated an abandoned 1998 Mazda Protégé at the dead end of Old Cain Ridge Road. The vehicle was missing its tires, battery and windshield wipers and had damage to the glove compartment. Officers contacted the owner, who said they had loaned the car to a family member and did not know when the theft of the parts occurred.

Auto Burglary

At 3:06 p.m., a victim came to the police station to report the theft of a firearm from a vehicle that occurred in the 100 block of First East Street. The victim stated that someone entered the vehicle and stole a Ruger .380 LCP handgun with a clip from the console. The vehicle had been left unlocked.
