VPD investigates cases of residential burglaries involving tool theft
Two instances involving residential burglary on Thursday sparked investigations by Vicksburg police.
Shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday, officers responded to Riverwood Place in reference to a burglary which had taken place.
Reports are that over $1350 worth of property, including multiple tools and batteries were taken from a storage area at the residence.
The victim told police the storage room holding the items had damage sustained to the back door.
At 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a home on National Street.
Police arrived on the scene and spoke with the victim who reported someone had entered into a vacant home which had been renovated and stole a Roper Power Tool and a Porter Cable Saw.
The Vicksburg Police Department are investigating these cases. Anyone with knowledge of these crimes should notify CPD at 601-636-2511.
