VPD investigating person of interest in Cypress Hill shooting

On Saturday, August 8, 2020, at 5:16 p.m., officers were dispatched to Cypress Hill Apartments, 402 Locust Street, for reported shooting.

At the scene, officers found a 53-year-old male who had been shot once in his left thigh. The victim was transported to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for treatment.

A 9 mm shell casing was recovered.

A person of interest has been named. More information will be released as it becomes available.
