VPD investigating recent thefts and case of arson

The Vicksburg Police Department is investigating several recent crimes in the area. Of the most recent crimes reported, five involve thefts and one involves arson.

Saturday:

At around 10 a.m., officers responded to an address in the 300 block of Warrenton Road in reference to a residential burglary. The victim stated someone entered the residence through an unsecured window. It is not known what items are missing at this time.

Shortly after noon, officers responded to the 1700 block of Lane Street to take a report on the theft of catalytic converters. The victim stated someone removed the converters from a 2005 Kia Amanti and a 2005 BMW 325.

Sunday:

Just after 6 a.m., officers responded to the 1300 block of Bay Street in reference to a vehicle fire. The owner reported she heard something hit her vehicle hood and windshield and then saw a male subject running away.

Just after 5 p.m., officers responded to an address in the 1700 block of Crawford Street for an earlier auto burglary. The victim stated one of the rear windows of a white 2001 Ford Expedition had been shattered and several tools valued at $800.00 were taken.

Monday:

Just after noon, officers responded to a call in the area of Bazinsky Road and Lakehill Drive in reference to auto burglary. The victim reported he had parked his Ford Ranger truck and trailer in this vicinity while cutting grass. When he finished and was getting ready to leave, he noticed his IPhone 12 missing from the cab of the truck. The vehicle was unlocked.

At 11:44 p.m., officers responded to an auto theft call in the 1300 block of First East Street. The victim stated a 1978 Dodge Magnum was missing.
