VPD is investigating vehicle crimes, one involved in drive-by shooting

The Vicksburg Police Department is currently investigating cases involving Auto Theft and Auto Burglary.
On Friday, officers responded to a call about a stolen vehicle at 11:55am. The call led police to an address in the 2100 block of Cherry Street.
A 2018 Toyota Corolla was stolen when someone noticed the owner had left her keys in the vehicle and the doors were also left open.
The Toyota Corolla was used in a drive-by shooting incident Friday. Several suspects were seen leaving the area in the stolen vehicle via traffic camera.
The vehicle was recovered Saturday on Valley Street, but the suspects are still at large.
On Sunday, officers responded to an auto-burglary call at the 1200 block of Mission 66 at 7:20 a.m.
The passenger side window of a 2017 Nissan Murano was shattered.
The victim states that money was also taken from the center console.
