Officers arrested a Vicksburg man on felony domestic violence Sunday.

Vicksburg police officers arrested Quinton Norfort, 25, at 5:49 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, following a complaint of a domestic disturbance on Baker Street.

A person can be charged with felony domestic violence if they have been previously convicted twice of misdemeanor Domestic Violence, or if the severity of the victim’s injuries merits the more severe charge.

Norfort appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court Monday, Aug. 24, before Judge Alan Derivaux, who bound him over to the Warren County grand jury on a $40,000 bond.

In an unrelated incident, Vicksburg police responded to an auto burglary Saturday, Aug. 22, at 9:14 a.m. at Atwood Chevrolet, 2339 North Frontage Road. The complainant reported that someone stole the rims from a Chevrolet Avalanche, as well as a wristwatch and an iPad.

If you have any information on this incident, please call the Vicksburg Police Department at 601-636-2511.
