VPD makes two arrests on meth charges

Vicksburg police officers made two arrests in the past few days for unrelated drug felonies.

Zacchaeus Tyler, 33, of Vicksburg, was arrested Saturday, Jan. 2, at the Smoke Break, 1215 Cherry St., on a warrant for sale of methamphetamine. Tyler was in possession of meth at the time of his arrest.

Tyler appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court Monday, Jan. 4, on one count of sale of methamphetamine and one count of possession of methamphetamine. Carpenter set his bond at $80,000.

Rocky Howard Jr., 22, of Vicksburg, was arrested four minutes after midnight Monday, Jan. 4, at a traffic stop on Warrenton Road. Officers found methamphetamine in his possession.

He also appeared before Judge Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court Monday, Jan. 4, charged with one count of possession of methamphetamine. Carpenter set his bond at $30,000

Tyler and Howard were both bound over to the Warren County grand jury.
