VPD makes two unrelated drug arrests Friday and Saturday

Vicksburg Police Department officers made two drug arrests Friday and Saturday in unrelated incidents .
Officers of the VPD Narcotics/Net Team arrested Ricky Powell, 41, of Vicksburg, Friday, Dec. 18, at 11:40 p.m. The officers were investigating reports of drug use in the parking lot at 1200 Mission 66 when they found Powell in his vehicle with a clear plastic bag containing methamphetamine.
Powell appeared Monday before Judge Angela Carpenter in Vicksburg Municipal Court charged with possession of methamphetamine. Carpenter bound him over to the Warren County grand jury on a $15,000 bond.
In an unrelated incident, VPD officers arrested Jessica Linear, 28, of Vicksburg, Saturday, Dec. 19, at 3:39 a.m. Officers had been dispatched to the OYO Motel, 2390 South Frontage Road, for a complaint of drug activity. Linear was the passenger in a white Infinity that tried to leave as officers arrived. After the vehicle was stopped, officers found cocaine in her possession.
Linear also appeared Monday in the Vicksburg Municipal Court before Judge Carpenter, charged with one count of possession of cocaine. Carpenter set her bond at $15,000 and bound her over to the Warren County grand jury.
