VPD officers make two drug arrests, report two auto burglaries

Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department arrested two people on unrelated drug charges Thursday, May 21, and Friday, May 22.

Members of the Vicksburg Police Department Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested Kenneth Butler, 59, of Vicksburg, Thursday on a charge of sale of cocaine. He appeared before Judge Angela Carpenter Friday, who set his bond at $30,000. and bound him over to the Warren County grand jury.

Officers arrested Jeffrey Cage, 21, of Vicksburg, on one count of felony possession of marijuana during a traffic stop early Friday morning. He also appeared in Vicksburg Municipal Court Friday, and Judge Carpenter set his bond at $50,000 and bound him over to the Warren County grand jury.

In reported incidents, Vicksburg Police officers responded to two calls of auto burglary Thursday.

  • At 6:18 a.m. officers responded to a residence in the 1200 block of Prospect Street where the victim reported someone broke into a 2016 Nissan Rogue and stole $420 from the center console.
  • At 9:04 a.m. officers responded to a residence in the 500 block of Farmer Street where the complainant stated someone broke the front passenger window of a 2002 Toyota Camry and stole a radio, license and money.
