VPD releases info on Friday and Saturday shooting incidents

Monday, the Vicksburg Police Department provided information on two unrelated incidents that involved gun play.
Friday, June 26, at 11:36 p.m. officers responded to an address in the 1400 block of Coccaro’s Alley about shots being fired. Officers discovered that someone had shot out the back window of a 2003 Toyota Avalon.
On Saturday, June 27, the Vicksburg Daily News reported on a shooting in the 400 block of Locust Street around 7 p.m. Early reports indicated that two juveniles were shooting at each other and both were hit.
Police reports indicate that shooting occurred in the area of Mundy and Farmer streets, one block west of Locust. Officers responded to the scene at 7:06 p.m.
The two male victims reported that someone in a black sedan shot both in their left ankles. They were transported to University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment.
This case is still under investigation.
