VPD report for Aug. 23 and 24: auto burglary, shots fired and felony DUI

Friday, Aug. 23, the Vicksburg Police Department responded to a call of an auto burglary in the 1400 block of Mulberry Street. The victim reported 15 keys belonging to Ergon Refinery missing from her vehicle.
During that afternoon, officers also responded to a call of shots fired on R.L. Chase Circle. Upon arrival officers saw no evidence of shots fired.
On Aug. 24, officers responded to a call of shots fired at 8:45 a.m. in the 2100 block of Harrison Street. Upon arrival officers witnessed no evidence of shots fired and no injuries were reported.
Also on Aug. 24, officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle parked near National Street. When officers arrived on the scene they found a parked vehicle with the drivers door open and the driver sleeping in the driver’s seat. There was evidence of alcoholic beverages in the car. After being given a breathalyzer test, the driver was arrested on a third offense DUI.
